2008 SS-AAEA Person of the Year Award Awarded to Trent Loos The SS-AAEA Person of the Year Award is bestowed to a person who exhibits a significant influence on agriculture, agribusiness, or economics, and whose life is worthy of recognition from students in agricultural economics and agribusiness.

Trent Loos is a columnist for Feedstuffs, host of the radio show Rural Route, and other media
outlets where he seeks to bridge rural and urban America and encourages the role of science and technology in food production.
It is his passion for youth that made him a prime candidate for the Person of the Year Award. Mr. Loos travels the country,
leaving his ranch for more than 250 days out of the year, and many of these travels are to meet and educate young Americans. While Mr. Loos
will not hesitate to confront controversial topics, there is one area about Trent that is not controversial: his superb speaking ability.
Trent Loos is both entertaining and inspiring. As you will see from his speech below, if you fall asleep while Trent is talking, you must
have taken horse tranquilizers!
